STATEMENT OF FAITH

STATEMENT OF FAITH

Here is some reference for what we believe.

The Bible is God Inspired

2 Timothy 3:16, 17

The Bible is our compass for living.  The Old and New Testament is given by God for us to study so we can apply its lessons.  Scripture is the ultimate authority for life and its purpose is to impart into us how to advance the kingdom of God.

God is a Father and Jesus Christ is His Son

John 17:3

There is one all powerful God that is the creator of Heaven and Earth.  He loved us so much that he sent his son so we can have a relationship with Him.  God’s son, Jesus Christ, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, taught truth, died on a cross, and resurrected from the dead.  Everything that God is, Jesus is, and the Father has given all autority in heaven and on earth to Him.  Salvation is found in no other name but the name of Jesus and His healing power is available for everyone who calls on His name.

People sin. Jesus saves.

Romans 6:23

We mess up and the Bible calls it sin. God created us in his own image, but we chose disobedience.  We deserve death and separation from God, but by his grace through his Son Jesus we can be forgiven. By trusting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we can experience freedom and live an amazing life and have access to our Heavenly Father.

Communion and Water Baptism

Acts 2:41, 42

There are two ways we can remember what Jesus did for us on the cross.  Communion is both a memorial and celebration.  Communion consists of two elements: the bread reminds of his body and the cup reminds of his blood.  The Bible encourages us to follow his example by being immersed in water as soon after we make a decsion to follow him.  It is a public way for us to show that we are changed.

Living as Believers

Romans 12:1, 2

God welcomes us the way we are, but change begins to happen from the inside out.  We stop living for ourselves and desire to glorify God by our actions and words.

The Holy Spirit

Romans 12:1, 2

The baptism of the Holy Spirit gives us power to share the good news of Jesus Christ and to love one another with great love.  The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin and releases different gifts so we can build up the body of Christ and love others.  The gifts of the spirit demonstrated in an orderly way are a beautiful and vital part of the body of Christ.

The Church

Ephesians 4:12

The church represents those who have been called out of the world into one body, made up of Jews and Non-Jews to bring the kingdom of God to earth.  The mission of the church is to become friends with the unconvinced so there may be opportunities for them to become life long followers of Christ.

God’s Plan for the End Times

1 Thessalonians 4:17

The Bible says that Jesus will return in the future to restore the kingdom of God to earth.  He will reign for a thousand years and afterwards destroying all evil and judging everyone according to their deeds.  Those who have made Jesus Christ Lord of their lives will live forever, but those who have rejected Him will suffer forever in the lake of fire.  Finally, God Himself will place His throne on the earth to rule with Christ forever.
