Week of 1/17/2016: Happy New Year!
I’m looking forward to 2016. This is going to be a good year for the 121 Movement.
I’ve been plotting our course for the year for several weeks now and I’m super pumped for what is to come. As we look toward all of the exciting things in store, I have a few events I want to highlight in this post.
This year, we’ll be traveling to Cincinnati on Friday, February 19 to attend the Winter Jam Tour. If you’ve never been to a Winter Jam event before, it is basically a night packed full of awesome Christian bands and music. This year, the night will feature artists and bands such as Red, Sidewalk Prophets, Crowder, KB, Matthew West, among others. The cost is $10 per youth. I suggest bringing a bit of extra cash for food and merchandise. Mark your calendars now; more details will come over the next few weeks. You don’t want to miss out!
I’m excited to announce that we’ll be taking a group to Momentum Youth Conference this summer. The conference will be held at Cedarville University in Ohio from July 26-31. I have taken several groups to Momentum in past and it has always been an amazing, life-changing experience. If you should so decide to attend, you can expect the following: great music, challenging and impacting speakers, powerful worship, good food, ample opportunities for local missions, countless fun games and activities, dodge-ball, helpful breakdown-sessions and much much more. Momentum has a high probability of being the best week of your summer.
The conference does have a considerable cost per each student. I don’t have the exact number for this yet, but we will have several fundraising opportunities with the potential to cover all the costs for the conference. I have NEVER had someone not be able to attend because of the cost. Don’t let this discourage you from attending.
I will have many more details on the conference and fundraising over the weeks that follow. Keep checking back here regularly. Mark your calendars for the best week of the summer!
Finally, there will be no youth group tomorrow, January 20. See you next Wednesday!
